Flash Fiction - A New Start

I'd been thinking of restarting the blog for some time now (everyone needs a blog, right?), but couldn't think of a way to do it.

Should I continue telling people about my writing, the problems I have, the way I do things? Well, it didn't seem too popular the first time round, and even I couldn't have enjoyed it that much since I stopped doing it some months ago (I know, full time job + baby = not much time (quite the understatement!), but even so, a few moments here and there for a blog post wasn't too much to ask)... So that was a no.

I couldn't write about my publishing experience, as I have none. I didn't want to do a parenting blog as I don't feel I have the knowledge or experience (yet!) to inform other people.

So what then?

That's when the lovely Rebecca Emin (see her blog at http://ramblingsofarustywriter.blogspot.com/) explained flash fiction to me. Teeny tiny stories of under 1000 (or 500) words. Compact, precise, quick. Perfect.

Well, we'll see. Perhaps perfection is a bit too much to ask right now, but have a look and see what I can come up with!

  2. Hi.I just found your blog via Twitter, quite accidental as I am not a great Twitter user. Your post struck a chord with me.
Like you I have just discovered the world of flash fiction and I'm really enjoying it (though it is proving to be a distraction from the novel I had started, but still an enjoyable distraction)
At present I am 'playing' with 140 Fiction, Dribbles, Drabbles and Droubbles!
Have a look at my blog http:// www.mjshorts.wordpress.com to see my humble offerings.
    I hope this is useful.
